We've been working on gate valve replacement around the course. Its a very big job, but well worth it. Over the years many of the gate valves that were installed during construction of the golf course have failed.
When their is a water leak on the course, these gate valves allow us to turn off the water to a small section (2-3 holes) of the golf course to make the repair. Currently we are having to shut off the water to the entire golf course to make repairs. Not efficient and every leak repair becomes a huge deal. We have several more to replace, but long-term, members will notice irrigation repairs happening much quicker.
