Its been a busy Monday and Tuesday for golf course maintenance. Cores were pulled on greens, tees, and fairways. These aerification events loosen the soil and promote deep rooted, healthy turfgrass. Healthy turfgrass always provides the best surface when it comes to play-ability for members.
Timarron is composed of very compact clay soils. When cores are pulled, water, fertilizer, and oxygen are allowed to penetrate these dense surfaces. These are all the key ingredients for root growth. Fertilizer will be applied to aid in the recovery which should be approximately 2-3 weeks.
