#3 Green Tree Removal

The recent storm caused significant damage to the course, but it has opened up an opportunity to do some much need tree work around #3 green.  Over the years #3 green has struggled to produce high quality turf on the back of the green due to the lack of sunlight caused by the shading from trees.  By removing these trees members will notice an improvement of the putting green turf.

Tree removal is never taken lightly and we took into consideration the following 3 factors.

  • Our members desire for high quality putting surfaces.  These removals will give #3 putting green the sunlight needed to produce high quality turf.
  • These removals do not change how the hole was intended to play.
  • Removal of non desirable trees.  Cedar elms have very little value.  They grow fast, are weak, and often break during high winds.
