2023 Drought at Timarron

This will be a great member resource to keep up to date on the current situation at Timarron.  Additional photos will be added weekly.  Timarron is currently CARTPATH ONLY on all holes.

***September 23rd Update***Over the last 2 weeks we have finally received some much needed rain and cooler temperatures.  Total rain received at the course was just under 1 inch total.  The grass has responded well and has started to show some new green growth.  This is positive news and puts us in much better spot than early September.  At this point in time we need 1 big rain event to saturate the course and get some additional water in our irrigation ponds.  Once this event happens, we will evaluate our healthiest holes (currently 2,9,10) and start to allow carts back on the grass.  Things are looking much better and need a little help from Mother Nature to get us to the finish line.***

Drought conditions have a profound impact on the availability and management of water resources. With the current severity of the drought, our three wells are now only capable of supplying 15% of our daily water needs.  Our holding ponds have at most 20 days of available water.  Compounding the situation, the city of Colleyville, too, is grappling with the repercussions of the drought.  As a result, procuring additional water from the city is not a viable option.

Given these constraints, our primary focus will be on watering the most critical areas of our property. Additionally, in an effort to mitigate any further stress on the already fragile turf, we will implement a "cart path only" rule, minimizing traffic and helping to protect and preserve our grounds during this challenging period.
